How to Order Prescription Medicines

Prescription Only Medicine (POM-V) ordering process.

Prescription only medicines that fall into the legal category POM-V can only be prescribed for your pet by a Registered Veterinarian. You can use the prescription to purchase a POM-V product via our website but we require a copy, which will be checked, before the product can be supplied.

Follow the steps below when ordering POM-V products :

1. Complete the relevant type of prescription form associated with the product you would like to purchase.

• New (register my pet)- Complete the full form below including the pet details and prescription.

• New (you have my pets details)- Enter the name of the pet we already have registered, include the new prescription and confirm the statements below to checkout
• Repeat (you already have my prescription)- Enter the name of the pet we already have the prescription for and confirm the statements below to checkout.

2. Choose to-

• Upload the prescription prior to checkout and send the original via post.
• Email the prescription to - admin@pawheads.com and send the original via post.
• Post the prescription to - PawHeads, 63E Lord Avenue, Thornaby Industrial Estate, Stockton-On-Tees, TS17 9JX.

3. Continue to checkout.

4. Create an account or login to continue.

5. Please ensure you leave a correct contact telephone number and email address should we need to contact you about your prescription. 

For Scheduled Drugs (Controlled Drugs) we require original prescriptions by post only.

It is an offence to submit a fraudulent prescription to obtain veterinary medicines and for a person to alter a prescription unless authorised to do so by a prescriber. PawHeads routinely check all prescriptions; any suspect prescriptions are reported to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) or the Police.
